No fear of data loss
Laptop owners can heave a sigh of relief: MEMS sensors from Bosch will protect your hard disc in the event of a fall. Data are often damaged when a laptop is accidentally dropped or falls. The SMB365 from Bosch can prevent that damage. It responds immediately and shifts the reader heads of the hard disc to parking position, so that all data are saved.

Bosch is developing MEMS sensors for use in laptops. These “Micro Electro Mechanical Systems” are motion sensors that contain tiny mechanical elements as well as their electronic logic. They can be silicon springs only one thousandth of a millimeter thick and ensure that movements like a fall can be detected in fractions of a second.

A computer, eight LED cameras and reflectors: The new optical axle measuring system from Bosch sets technical standards. Nothing can beat it in terms of speed and precision. Measuring a car chassis can often be an arduous job: involving a series of tedious measurements to detect whether the car is set perfectly. The new optical axle measuring system calculates the car's individual settings at lightening speed and transfers them to a computer.

Preparation is simple: Measuring points are attached to the car using adhesive gel. The camera stands are set up about a meter away from each wheel. The computer uses the camera image data to calculate the chassis dimensions and define the required set-up. This means that garages can cut their chassis set-up times to a fraction compared to standard methods.
